The dream for this flower farm snuck up on us. In the spring of 2023, in an attempt to come together to bring beauty to our space, we tilled up a weed strangled dry patch of ground in our back pasture and sprinkled some seeds. We started a few patches of yarrow and cosmos, watered and weeded and crossed our fingers. To our shock and surprise it exploded into bloom all summer long and became a central fixture for our family to gather in and around. We had taken nothing, and made it something, and it had gathered us and in some strange way healed us a little too. We looked up from that little patch of dirt and saw the rest of our pasture as a canvas and opportunity. 2024 was our first year in this venture and brought more joy and challenge than we could have anticipated. We are beyond grateful to be chasing a dream together, mother and daughter. We can only hope and pray that all this hard work turns into beauty upon beauty and community as rich as the dirt we tend.
